I would not say Broke you still ahve to get the skill points and get to the boss, they just saved on the frustration of henchmen kiling the boss to soon or the boss not using it.
I did the Dragon lair 5 times then I gave up on getting gladiators defence as devloped vaulentary torrets syndrome.

One way to reduce farming a bit it to have an e-bay type market place, wher you can buy and sell items. this would reduce trading spam, which pee's me off. Then the only farming would be from gold, but if you could sell most of your stuff at in a amrket you could make a tidy profit, buying and selling items.

I"m kind of worried about this. I know they attempted to fix it so you didn't have to redo same mission over and over, time in and time out. If the reduce the effectiveness of the infused armor how will it make game more challenging. I think even when infused you still got hurt. I fail to see the correlation between making you run through 5 times and keeping intended challenge to next missions by have lowered infused pieces. I don't know how much different damage is as I've yet to log on, but it is something to be aware of. Challenge doesn't come from running 5 times, it comes from other things.
|
We want you to have decent armour without having to make the same run repeatedly. So you'll not need to run again and again to acquire a single piece of infused armour. On the other hand, we wanted to make it clear that there isn't a 5-times-stronger effect from the single infusion, but that for balance and to maintain challenge, once you're all set with the infused armour set, you will be well protected but not godly.

Some players liked the idea of having a Divine Aura, or they may have been given a CE as a gift after they purchased the SE and then decided to update their account to have the Divine Aura. This update allows that option.

We're working on it. Honestly.
Now, perception of "unnecessary" differs. Some will claim it's necessary no matter what. But for the common definition, there will be changes coming.

You look a little peaked. Maybe you better head home a bit early.

i agree with the comment about elite skills being analogous to 'buying them from a npc trader'. too easy to acquire now, but part of me also is relieved they are easier to get. i had tried with henchmen over 7+ runs to get 'endure pain' from 'Barkwood' boss, and this was when you had to interrupt his hammer bash, and then use cap sig.
i just ran today with henchies and killed him, and stole his skill. its like it went from one extreme to the other end of the spectrum.
change the expensive 15k armor look for SOME incentive to get it.
as for the rune trader, initial responses are mixed, but i think we'll get a clearer idea in the coming days/weeks. i'm glad i can (at least) still sell sup runes for a few (k). [edited]

wait before the patch, characters can capture boss's skills... i never know that and now with this signet capture thing, you can steal one skill from the boss even after they die...
Geez... 150 skills plus... 50 or more skills from boss monsters, that alot of combination!!

I liked the idea of having to capture skills by timing it, but it just didn't work out very well in some cases. So I guess the new change is for the better. The infusion change is very welcome. Before it was almost impossible to do the mission as most people only wanted to do the "infuse run". I finally got to finish the mission in my first group after this change was in.
So, will there be a walk key for the next patch so you don't have to run all the time? Pahleeeeze?

I actually don't like the new Capture Skill update.. trying to capture it while being bombarded and then yelling "GOT IT!!!" was what made the "capturing" part really fun. Phew what an adrenaline rush. Seems a bit dead now you just click a corpse and casually shop for one.
But then again I haven't done a load of hard runs only to get there and miss one. Is that why people are enjoying that update? Anyhoo.. that part makes me sad
---
Edit:
Just read an interesting bit in another post. ARE there missions that end once you kill a boss? Cos him bein dead.. the cuttin to the cut scene before you got your skill is gonna suck.
Unless, and someone PLEASE correct me cos this would be cool.. can you STILL use the Capture Skill signet WHILE the boss is in motion?
That would be the best of both worlds, and if so.. I recant my rant

Agreed - this was a LOT of fun before - now it's, well...lame
I guess the next step to make it even EASIER for people will be to let party members capture each others skills...

The farming solution is not to make the monsters harder or to make the drop rate lower. It should be to correlate the item level of the drop to the monster level dropping it. If I kill a level 28 monster, BY GOD, I WANT SOMETHING TO SHOW FOR MY EFFORT! (caps intentional - I'm aggravated.) Beyond a certain level, a monster should not drop a Truncheon 3-6 dark dmg. Even if the item is a white one, beyond a certain level it should at least be a decent white item.

I understand that for some of the warrior skills, they didn't show up under the boss's name. Warriors were having to spam and pray.
